LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course you will:
- Know the roles and responsibilities of Phlebotomists
- Understand the limitations of duties
- Recognise the importance of communitcation
- Know the anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system of the lower arm
- Be aware of the criteria of selecting a suitable site
- Know how to prepare the site ready for venepuncture
- Be aware of the proper handwashing techniques
- Be aware of the procedure of collecting blood samples
- Recognise common problems that can occur in blood collection
- Understand how to label samples correctly
- Know two common devices used in phebotomy, and how to use them.
- Be aware of needle gauges, and their indications
- Understand how to correctly dispose of used equipment
- Know how to deal with a needle stick injury

Personal Safety
- Understand how to correctly dispose of used equipment

Course Information
- Link for training will be emailed 48 Hours prior to the course
- No Refunds will be given for non-attendance
- Delegates to login 15 minutes before the start of course to register
- Mics must be working
- Cameras must be on at all times
- If Mics and cameras not working admission will be denied with no refund
- Must be in a suitable location to undertake training
- A quiz will be done at the end of the session
- All knowledge gaps will be filled
- Pen and Paper are required for taking notes
