Mental Health Courses
Mental health training for care workers is essential in UK care homes to ensure residents receive compassionate and effective support. Approximately 70% of individuals in residential care have some form of dementia, yet only 29% of care staff have received dementia-specific training . This gap can lead to inadequate care and increased reliance on psychotropic medications. Moreover, mental health issues among care workers themselves are prevalent, with nearly one-third of sickness absences attributed to stress and mental health conditions . Providing mental health training not only enhances the quality of care for residents but also supports the well-being of staff, fostering a healthier environment for all.
We had a fire safety training under Paul Whitmore. The training was well organize and very informative. He his experience has help us understand the safety and proper procedure during a fire. Overall it was very knowledgable.
Paul did a very good job training us. Went through the teaching but by bit making sure we all understood everything he was teaching us.

The training was great and well understood and fun, The trainer paul Whitemoore took his time to explain every chapter by chapter it a well detailed way and am glad i understand it very well, it was indeed a great training.
It was really great to be a part of the training. The breakaway practical was an eye opener and also reiterated varipus legislation abd what posotive behaviour is all about.

This course was for fire marshal training and it is extremely relevant for our job. The trainer Paul Whitmore was thorough and efficient with his delivery of the course and information he provided.
Paul Whitman was an excellent trainer. Very funny and experienced. Training would have gone better if my company had supplied any equipment and if it had taken place in service for a proper demonstration of checks and procedures.

I recently completed my PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training with Paul Whitmore, and I would like to give a full review of the experience.
Paul delivered the training with an excellent balance of professionalism, clarity, and approachability. He explained each concept in detail, ensuring that everyone in the group understood both the theory and the practical application of the techniques. His teaching style was engaging and interactive, encouraging participation while also creating a safe space where questions were welcomed and answered thoroughly.
One of Paul’s greatest strengths is how he links the training to real-life scenarios. He made sure we could see the relevance of each method in a care setting, helping us understand not just what to do, but why it works. The role-play and demonstrations were especially useful, giving us confidence in using de-escalation strategies before considering physical interventions.
Paul also emphasised safety—both for staff and for service users—reminding us of the importance of respect, communication, and professionalism at all times. His calm and supportive manner made the training feel less intimidating, even when we were practicing more physical elements of PMVA.
Overall, I left the course feeling more confident, knowledgeable, and well-prepared to manage challenging behaviours in a safe and compassionate way. Paul is an outstanding trainer, and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing PMVA training.

I attended a ligature awareness training today and found it really informative and practical. The trainer Paul W. was excellent—clear, supportive, and knowledgeable. Paul whitmore is fantastic and very knowledgeable. He explained the fire martial training clearly and concisely. It was easy to stay engaged with the content and we were given regular breaks.

The tutor (Paul) was quite good and I really enjoyed the class. The training will be very helpful in assistance of residents when it’s undeniably needed. I enjoyed the lessons and the class was worth the time.
Attended Venepuncture training today. The trainer Maxine appeared to be really knowledge on the subject matter and was also really personable. Learnt alot in today session and feel really confident moving forward. Dont always feel that way when attending training. However, Maxine was really good and making us feel welcome and confident in are roles.
