Why this training matters

For many people with a spinal cord injury, manual (digital) bowel emptying is the most common method of bowel care — a UK survey of 1,334 people found it used by 56%. In injuries at T6 and above it can trigger autonomic dysreflexia, a medical emergency, which is why trained technique matters.
