Care for people with a visual impairment

By the end of the course, delegates will:

  • Know what is meant by Visual Impairment
  • Recognise some of the common medical causes for visual impairment
  • Understand the difficulties people with visual impairments might have in their day-to-day activities
  • Know how to plan person centred care for those with vision problems
  • Be aware of the need for effective risk assessments
  • Know how vision is tested
  • Understand the readings of a Snellen test
  • Be aware of what counts as severely sight impaired, and sight impaired
  • Be aware for the technology and equipment available for those living with impaired vision
