By the end of the course, delegates will:

  • Understand what the PACE approach is and where it comes from
  • Know how trauma and attachment difficulties affect behaviour
  • Understand what playfulness means in practice and when to use it
  • Be able to show acceptance of the feelings behind behaviour
  • Know how to use curiosity to understand behaviour rather than react to it
  • Understand how empathy helps a person feel safe and understood
  • Be able to apply PACE during difficult moments
  • Know how to sustain a PACE approach across a staff team
