About the course

Deliver effective, person-centred support to people living with dementia

By the end of the course, delegates will:

  • Recognise the common symptoms of dementia
  • Know the relevant UK legislation and duties under it
  • Understand the main types of dementia, their risk factors and safety considerations
  • Apply person-centred approaches in all aspects of care and support
  • Understand and respond positively to behaviours of concern
  • Support effective communication and promote independence
  • Know how to work in partnership with families and signpost to further support

Yes — every delegate receives a certificate on completion. Certificates are valid for 2 years, so plan refresher training before they expire.
