Recognise, respond to and report concerns about adults at risk
By the end of the course, delegates will:
- Define an adult at risk and explain the three-point test under the 2007 Act
- Recognise the different categories and indicators of abuse and harm
- Understand your responsibilities and the key legislation that applies
- Apply a person-centred, human-rights-based approach to care
- Respond appropriately to a disclosure, and know what not to do
- Report a concern correctly using local procedures
- Understand what happens during inquiries, investigations and case conferences
- Know when and how to escalate — and overcome fear of whistleblowing
