By the end of the course, delegates will:
- Understand what RESTORE2 Mini is and how it relates to the full RESTORE2 tool
- Understand the triad of clinical outcomes and why RESTORE2 Mini is used
- Recognise who is at risk of deterioration and its common causes
- Identify the signs of deterioration and apply the Chain of Safety
- Know how and how often to record and monitor observations
- Apply the graded response strategy for at-risk residents
- Know the questions and checklist used to detect deterioration early
- Recognise when a situation is a life-threatening emergency
- Understand what SBARD is and when to use it

Understanding RESTORE2 Mini
- What is RESTORE2 Mini? A physical deterioration and escalation tool for care/nursing homes
- A stepping stone to the full RESTORE2 tool for homes not yet measuring vital signs

Recognising deterioration
- Who is at risk: co-existing disease, acute illness, altered consciousness
- Common causes: sepsis, infections, chronic disease, unavoidable complications
- Signs of deterioration: reduced swallow, breathing changes, skin colour, agitation
