Support people living with Crohn’s disease

By the end of the course, delegates will:

  • Explain what Crohn’s is, and how it differs from colitis
  • Recognise a flare, and know what to report
  • Identify the complications and their warning signs
  • Handle steroids safely, and know the emergency card
  • Administer weekly medicines to the required standard
  • Report infection promptly in an immunosuppressed person
  • Support somebody with an ileostomy or colostomy
  • Avoid imposing unnecessary food restrictions
  • Escalate the red flags to the right person, quickly
  • Protect dignity around urgency and continence
