Legionella

Legionella training helps your team understand how legionella grows and how people catch it. They learn to carry out and record the temperature checks, flushing and cleaning that keep a water system safe, and what to do if somebody becomes unwell. Delivered on-site by our experienced trainers.

Keep your water system safe from legionella

By the end of the course, delegates will:

  • Explain how legionella grows and how people are exposed
  • Recognise why every resident counts as being at increased risk
  • Identify the illness in an older person, including atypical signs
  • Describe the legal duties and who holds them
  • Distinguish the risk assessment from the written scheme
  • Carry out and record temperature checks correctly
  • Apply the seven-day rule and flush to a temperature endpoint
  • Maintain showers, hoses and mixing valves to the right frequency
  • Balance scald prevention against legionella control
  • Follow the right reporting route if somebody becomes ill
