Training for workplaces

What training does your workplace need?

We’re best known for health and social care training. However, many of our courses suit any workplace. Most employers start with first aid and fire safety, then add training that supports their people and managers.

By type of workplace

Training for your type of workplace

Every workplace is different, but most share the same starting points.

Offices and contact centres

First aid and fire marshal training are sensible starting points. Stress at Work and Wellbeing support teams, while leadership courses help team managers.

Retail, hospitality and leisure

Customer-facing teams need to act fast in an emergency. Emergency First Aid at Work and Fire Marshal suit most sites. Hospitality teams can also add Customer Service and Food Safety.

Warehousing, distribution and manufacturing

Busy sites need trained first aiders and a clear approach to risk. First Aid at Work, Health & Safety, Risk Assessment and COSHH are a good fit.

Businesses with several sites

We deliver on-site wherever your teams are. As a result, you can plan the same courses for every location with one provider.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Do you only train care teams?

No. Health and social care training has been our focus since 2006, but many of our courses suit any workplace. They include first aid, fire marshal, health and safety, wellbeing and leadership training.

How many first aiders does my workplace need?

It depends on your workplace, your staff and the hazards involved. HSE guidance asks employers to assess their first aid needs, and our free first aid needs assessment checklist can help you work it out.

What’s the difference between Fire Safety and Fire Marshal training?

Fire Safety is a half-day course on the causes of fire, prevention and what to do when the alarm sounds. Fire Marshal is a full day for the people who take on fire marshal duties, including evacuation procedures and equipment.

Can you tailor courses to our business?

Yes. Many of our course pages mention care settings, because that’s where most of our work is. Tell us about your workplace and we’ll tailor the course to your setting.

Can workplace training run over Zoom?

Theory-based courses such as Fire Marshal and Wellbeing can run live over Zoom. First aid courses are practical, so they’re delivered on-site.
